Throughout his high school career,  Mr. Ben Pollack was entrenched in his school's music program in southern California. He actively participated in the Poway High School Emerald Brigade, the Poway High School Jazz Band, as well as the Poway High School Wind Symphony. He held the positions of Baritone Section Leader in the concert band and marching band settings, as well as trombone section leader in the Jazz Band.

On top of his instrumental prowess, Mr. Pollack also was a member of his high school choral/musical theater program. In his tenure he was able to perform in venues such as: Rome, Florence, Venice, Disneyland, and Carnegie Hall!  He also has performed in such musicals as The Music Man, Guys and Dolls, and Once Upon a Mattress.

Throughout his college career, Mr. Pollack played the euphonium in the University of Colorado Symphonic Band and held the principal chair position for three years. He also marched in the Golden Buffalo Marching Band for two years. Vocally, Mr. Pollack auditioned into one of the state's premiere a cappella groups, the CU Buffoons, an all male a cappella group founded in 1962. He also formed his own barbershop quartet and in 2014 they came in second place in the Rocky Mountain Collegiate Division. He graduated from the University of Colorado with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education.

After three and a half very successful years in Walsenburg, Mr. Pollack was named the 2019 'Outstanding Young Music Educator' by the Colorado Music Educators Association.

Mr. Pollack is excited to bring his knowledge and expertise into the Huerfano School District. Throughout his life, he has prepared himself to become the best music teacher he can be.
